Who We Are

How It All Started?

The Evangelical Baptist Church of Windsor was established in 2007 when a group of Haitian believers, new to the city, gathered together to worship on University Avenue. In the early days, they sought to build a community centered around faith, fellowship, and a shared vision. Recognizing the need for leadership, the congregation quickly appointed Pastor Renel Sanon to guide us in our spiritual journey. Under his leadership, the church began to grow and strengthen its mission in the Windsor community. Not long after, the congregation moved to the building of Ambassador Baptist Church of Windsor, where they held their Sunday services in the afternoon. This partnership allowed us to continue our worship and outreach efforts as we sought a permanent place to call home. In 2019, after years of growth and dedication, the church was able to purchase its own building. Today, the Evangelical Baptist Church of Windsor is proudly worshiping in its permanent location, continuing its mission of spreading the Gospel, building community, and serving the people of Windsor.

Our Mission

At the Evangelical Baptist Church of Windsor, our mission is to glorify God by sharing the message of Jesus Christ and making disciples, both within our Haitian community and beyond. Rooted in the rich cultural traditions of Haiti, we are committed to building a church where faith, love, and service are at the heart of everything we do.

We are dedicated to:

Sharing the good news of Jesus Christ with our Haitian community in Windsor and reaching out to others with the message of hope and salvation.

Growing in faith through Bible study, prayer, and fellowship, encouraging each other to live as true followers of Christ.

Meeting the needs of our local community by serving others, offering support, and demonstrating Christ’s love in practical ways.

Celebrating our Haitian roots while welcoming individuals from all walks of life, fostering a community where cultural diversity is embraced and united under the love of Christ.

What We Believe In

We believe that the Bible is the inspired, inerrant Word of God, authoritative for all matters of faith and practice. It is the ultimate guide for our lives, teaching us how to live in accordance with God’s will.

We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, who was born of the Virgin Mary, lived a sinless life, died on the cross for the forgiveness of sins, and rose again on the third day. His death and resurrection provide the only way for humanity to be reconciled to God.

We believe that Jesus Christ will return in glory to judge the living and the dead. His second coming will bring about the fulfillment of God’s eternal plan, and all believers will dwell with Him forever in a new heaven and a new earth.

We believe in the ongoing work of the Holy Spirit in the lives of believers. The Holy Spirit empowers Christians to live godly lives, equips them for service, and strengthens them to fulfill God’s will on earth.

We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons: God the Father, God the Son (Jesus Christ), and God the Holy Spirit. Each person of the Trinity is fully God, yet there is only one God.

We believe in the ordinance of baptism by immersion, which symbolizes the believer’s identification with the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. We also observe the Lord’s Supper (Communion) as a way to remember Christ’s sacrifice and proclaim His death until He returns.

We believe that salvation is a gift from God, received by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone. It is not by works, but through personal faith in the finished work of Christ that we are saved.

We believe the Church is the body of Christ, made up of believers who come together to worship, serve, and grow in faith. The Church is called to be a witness to the world, living out the love of Christ and sharing the message of salvation.
